(R.O.N) RE-OPEN NOMINATIONS

R.O.N

RE-OPEN NOMINATIONS

GIVING STUDENTS CHOICE

Who is R.O.N?

R.O.N is not a real persona and is an option for students who are not happy with any candidates on the ballot. Standing for Re-open nominations - if RON is elected, the role is re-run as a new election with all current candidates in that role inelligible to run.

DOES VOTING FOR R.O.N MEAN A WASTED VOTE?

No - Voting for R.O.N is not a wasted Vote. voting for R.O.N still counts as a valid vote and has been successful in previous elections. As the Union uses STV - most candidates do not get in on the first round of votes, meaning that second, third or fourth preference are then considered. R.O.N if selected in front of other candidates can lead to that candidate either being removed from the subsequent round of voting or overtaking the frontrunner in votes needed to be successful
