Razifa Yeasmin

Welfare VP Candidate

Empowering every student voice, together.

Why are you standing in the SU Elections?

I want to stand for Vice President welfare because I believe every student deserves to feel supported, heard, and empowered throughout their university journey. My goal is to promote inclusivity, mental wellbeing, academic balance, and equal opportunities for all. I will work to strengthen support services, create safe spaces, and ensure student voices shape decisions that affect them. Compassion, transparency, and collaboration will guide my actions. I am committed to advocating for those who feel overlooked, building a community where diversity is celebrated, and ensuring no student faces challenges alone. Together, we can create a successful student experience for everyone.

If elected, what are your three priorities you want to focus on during your time in office?

  • Student wellbeing and safety — improving access to mental health support, creating safe spaces, and addressing harassment concerns.
  • Inclusion and equal opportunities — ensuring women, international students, and underrepresented groups have a strong voice and fair access to resources.
  • Academic and financial support — advocating for flexible policies, cost-of-living support, and practical guidance to help students succeed. I want every student to feel confident, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential during their university journey.
