Overview

Based at both Treforest & Newport campus, membership to the Cyber security society is open to everyone!

There are two membership levels, Associate and Fellow.

  • Associate membership is open to everyone. As an associate you will be invited to join the fellow members once a month to discuss topics of interest, answer your questions about cyber security, and help you to be a safer internet user. You will also be given the opportunity to learn how to use Linux, create virtual machines, create secure passwords, and try your hand at hacking password protected files using specialist software in the cyber labs.

  • Fellow membership includes all the benefits of associate membership but is only open to cyber security students. As a fellow member you will be invited to Weekley study group sessions. This is a great opportunity for collaboration and building team working skills.

  • Associates and fellow members alike will be invited to join trips to sites of interest such as BSides in Cheltenham and Infosec Europe hosted in London throughout the year to hear relevant topics be presented by industry experts.*

  • All members have the right to vote at the societies annual general meeting.

*Subject to additional costs, interest, and availability, T&Cs apply.
