RCT's Santa Gift Appeal

Period of When the Campaign was Run: 2016 - 2023

About: 

The Santa Appeal is a campaign organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Council and takes place on an annual basis. The yearly tradition works by relying on the generous donations of the public. Contributions to the appeal are made in the form of gift bags and are distributed to children including those that are vulnerable and looked after, to make sure that no one misses out at Christmas. 

The Students' Union supported the Gift Appeal and invited staff and students across USW to donate gifts across multiple years which would then be collected by RCT and distributed to vunerable children. 

Impact: 

Thanks to the generosity of USW staff and students, the campaign had donated over 500 gifts during the years the campaign was run. 

Whilst the Union's campaign on this has ended, RCTs Santa Gift Appeal is still a strong inititive run by RCT annually. You can read more about RCT's work on the appeal here.
