BUCS Round-up
Bit of a quiet one this week, with only 3 teams competing at home and 3 across the South West of England and Wales.
Match Results
Badminton Open 1s Vs Badminton Open 2s
Wow... the showdown of the century blessed out FitZone last week with Badminton Open 1s going against Badminton Open 2s in their Open Western Conference Cup knockout tornament. Making a stand against the 1s team, the 2s conceded 2-6 to the 1s, making a difference compared to last week’s result of 0-8. This week Open 1s will pay against Cardiff Open 3s at Talybont, while Open 2s go against Winchester Open 1s in FitZone.
Football Women’s 1s
Making a stance on home soil for the first time this season, USW Football Women’s 1s took on Exeter Women’s 2s for the second time in their match for the Women’s National Trophy. An unfortunate match-up, but one that still made the team smile and feel encouraged for the rest of the season, the team walked away with a result of 0-15 to Exeter. Don’t worry - you’ve got another month before you’ll play against Exeter 2s again on the 9th December at Sports Park!
Hockey Women’s 1s
Unfortunately, the hockey team had to give a walkover in their match against Cardiff Female 8s last week. But that has not knocked their confidence! They’ll be going back down the A470 to take on Cardiff Female 6s on the 2nd December, but have their next match on home soil against UWE 2s! Show them what you’re made of!
Lacrosse Men’s 1s
Trecking down to Devon was the Lacrosse Men’s team, taking on Exeter Men’s 2s. After a long journey there, they were in store for another long journey back with a score of 7-1 to Exeter, with Zac scoring the goal, and Liam being awarded Man of the Match. They’ll be gracing us with a second head-to-head against Exeter 2s on home soil in the new year on the 27th January.
Netball Women’s 1s
Crossing the water, Netball 1s took on UWE 2s in an intense match at the Centre for Sport. Finishing the game with a result of 50-33 to UWE. Their last game of the season is against UWE 2s on the 3rd March on our home soil at Sports Park.
USW’s Position in the League
Currently, we’re sat on 189 points, dropping down to 86 in the BUCS league. We’re looking at 11 matches next week, 6 home and 5 away, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that some more wins will begin coming our way in the next round of matches!
