  1. Plan ahead

To make your studying goes as smoothly as possible, it’s important to plan ahead. One of the easiest and most effective ways to do this is to create a study plan. A study plan will help you ensure that you are organised and know exactly when and what you will be studying, which will help ease the stress during the exam period.

  1. Find a space that works for you

Some people find it best to work in the library, some prefer to work at home, some prefer to study with a coffee at a local cafe. Wherever you work best, that’s where you should study. Everyone works differently, and there’s not a correct answer about where you should study, just do what works best for you.

  1. Take breaks

The brain can only absorb so much information at one time, so remember to take breaks! Exam season can be stressful so it’s important to take time for yourself. Make sure that you are leaving enough time between study sessions to rest, relax and sleep.

  1. Create Study materials

Whilst rereading notes and books can be helpful, some people find creating study materials such as flashcards or posters helpful. These can then be used to test yourself and are easy to transport so that you can easily study in different locations.

  1. Reward yourself

Exam season can be draining, both physically and mentally so it’s important to keep yourself motivated. Ensure that you reward yourself throughout the exam season to keep yourself motivated. Grab a coffee with friends, go for a pint, go on a walk: it’s important to give yourself these little treats to remotivate yourself.
