Role & Responsibilities

  • Welcoming students and guests to the Students’ Union 
  • Dealing with enquiries in person, by phone and email
  • Directing students and guests to the correct person/department 
  • Answering and forwarding phone calls
  • NUS card registrations
  • Keeping the Information Point area tidy 
  • Operating the till and cash handling
  • Social media content creation 
  • Other adhoc tasks as required


Skills Desired

To be successful in this role you will need to have a friendly and confident manner. You will need to be approachable but also be a hub of information for both students and guests visiting the Students’ Union. Ideally, you will be in your second or third year of studies and familiar with your campus and the way the Union and University operate. An interest in social media and an ability to write copy (to a high standard of written English) engaging content will be looked upon favourably. Ultimately, this is a role where you have the opportunity to engage with the student body, communicate the values of the Students’ Union whilst developing your resume credentials.
