FREE TRANSPORT BETWEEN CAMPUSES

THE IDEA

Students wanted a discount or free bus services between Cardiff/Newport and the Pontypridd campuses.

ACTION

  • The Activities Officer will look into the feasibility of this and the impact it has on sports teams, clubs and societies.

UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 6TH

  • The Activities Officer has looked into this but there is currently no provision that can be made. However, free transport is provided for special SU events such as Freshers Fair, the Annual General Meeting, etc.

NOVEMBER 5TH

  • Students can now book transport from Cardiff and Newport for this year's Annual General Meeting. All students are invited and encouraged to attend the SU's Annual General Meeting and you can be a part of making decisions to improve your student experience. This year's Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 21st November at 6 pm.

NOVEMBER 28TH

  • Students can sign up to volunteer at the Change Week lockdown. For those students who study in Cardiff and Newport, they can get free transport to the lockdown in the Students' Union building in Treforest.

WHAT YOU SAID

"Maybe a discount or even a free pass between Atrium and the Pontypridd campuses."

"A semi-frequent bus from Newport or Cardiff campus to Treforest, so no one is excluded from participating in sports teams and uniting campuses."

"More accessible travel for students to other campuses."

"Transport from other campuses for sport."

HOW IT WORKS

1. Students submit ideas during Change Week.

2. Teams of students gather to hack solutions to the biggest problems.

3. Teams pitch their ideas to a panel of University big wigs.

4. SU Officers and teams work with staff to make the ideas a reality.
