EASIER BOOKING SYSTEM IN CARDIFF

THE IDEA

Students wanted a more organised room booking system in Cardiff as lots of rooms are free but unable to book out and there are block booking made at the start of the year, stopping students from using studios/equipment.

ACTION

  • The Welfare Officer will be passing the feedback on to the incoming Cardiff Campus Officer to work on over the year.

UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 6TH

  • The Cardiff Campus Officer will be returning to university soon and will be looking into these issues in their role.

NOVEMBER 4TH

  • The Cardiff Campus Officer received training for their role. The Welfare Officer has set up a meeting with the Cardiff Campus Officer for Tuesday 19th November to look into this issue.

NOVEMBER 19TH

  • The Welfare Officer met with the Cardiff Campus officer and discussed the next steps. The Cardiff Campus Officer received 22 responses from students about their issues with the room booking in Cardiff and will keep this feedback form open all year for students to add to. A meeting has been arranged with the Specialist Resource Officer for the 14th January in which they will discuss the feedback and establish the next action to go forward with this issue.

"Please allow us to book out any rooms which are not in use."

HOW IT WORKS

1. Students submit ideas during Change Week.

2. Teams of students gather to hack solutions to the biggest problems.

3. Teams pitch their ideas to a panel of University big wigs.

4. SU Officers and teams work with staff to make the ideas a reality.
