PARKING IN CARDIFF AND NEWPORT

THE IDEA

Students felt that the parking costs of the car parks close to Cardiff and Newport campus were too expensive.

ACTION

  • The Welfare Officer will discuss this feedback with the University.

UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 6TH

  • Newport campus already has a discount scheme, where students can get 20% off at Kingsway Centre. To qualify for the discount, you must scan your ticket at the campus reception desk on the ground floor.
  • There is a parking discount in Cardiff for the NCP multi-storey car park underneath accommodation (opposite the Atrium). Students can apply for a free card online. Prices are still expensive as it is a city centre car park, but there is a small discount available. It is £6.50 for 24 hours. Information is available on the Unilife page for Parking.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Students submit ideas during Change Week.

2. Teams of students gather to hack solutions to the biggest problems.

3. Teams pitch their ideas to a panel of University big wigs.

4. SU Officers and teams work with staff to make the ideas a reality.
