IMPROVE OPENING HOURS, PRICES AND VARIETY AVAILABLE AT CATERING OUTLETS


 

THE IDEA

Students wanted catering outlets to be open longer, have more variety and have lower prices.

 

ACTION

  • Food prices is being combatted as part of the Microwaves on Campus team.
  • The SU President will be taking the feedback forward to Catering Services to see if there is any action that can be taken.

 

UPDATE

SEPTEMBER 6TH

  • The SU President spoke to Catering Services to pass on the feedback. They are aware of student comments and will be working hard to make as many improvements as possible. 

 

NOVEMBER 5TH

  • The microwaves in Newport and Treforest campus have been turned on. In Cardiff, students are welcome to open kitchens in CAA105A and CAA401A. The location of microwaves in Glyntaff is still being discussed. 
  • The Welfare Officer has discussed alternative milk prices with SU Cardiff Bar Manager who confirmed that students are not charged any extra within Cardiff SU. 
  • The SU President has discussed alternative milk prices with the SU Commerical Services Manager who confirmed that students are not charged any extra within Treforest SU.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Students submit ideas during Change Week.

2. Teams of students gather to hack solutions to the biggest problems.

3. Teams pitch their ideas to a panel of University big wigs.

4. SU Officers and teams work with staff to make the ideas a reality.
