SHORTEN THE 20 WORKING DAY POLICY

THE IDEA

Students wanted to receive their essay feedback quicker than the current 20 working day policy.

ACTION

  • The Education Officer will discuss this with academic staff to provide a comment on why the 20 working day policy cannot be changed.

UPDATE

OCTOBER 7TH

  • The 20 working day policy is to allow staff enough time to mark work. This is also to maintain staff wellbeing; their workload is extremely high and they need sufficient time to mark all the work they receive on top of their normal responsibilities.
  • The Academic Subject Manager for Policing made an infographic to show students what happens within those 20 working days:

WHAT YOU SAID

"Shorten slightly the 20 working day policy."

HOW IT WORKS

1. Students submit ideas during Change Week.

2. Teams of students gather to hack solutions to the biggest problems.

3. Teams pitch their ideas to a panel of University big wigs.

4. SU Officers and teams work with staff to make the ideas a reality.
