Happy December everyone!
I’m sure some of you have an eye on the winter break or if you’re anything like me you are wondering what on earth happened to 2018. Either way, I am here again for my final instalment of all things Movember.
Before I share the facts and figures I would just like to say a huge thank you to all of you for your support with our Movember campaign. Certainly, the more students I speak to, the more it is clear that mental health is a prominent issue facing students and is a big talking point at USW. This was very much reflected by the amount of money we raised, hitting and exceeding our £500 target and reaching a grand total of £550 as a Union and £629 as a university. That makes this the biggest Movember campaign we have had at USW!!!
I’d like to give a shout out to our best fundraiser William Macdonald who raised a whopping £91 and my sincere condolences to Liam Powell…. We love and support you and hope one day you’ll be able to grow enough hair for people to know about it.
As mentioned above, this campaign has made it very clear how much the student body cares about mental health and wellbeing. As a result, we as a Union will continue to represent this view and work with the University to improve mental health-related services. If you have any feedback on this or any other campaign as well as any part of your University experience, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We love hearing from you and base our work for the year off what you think.
